The Minister for Innovation, Science and Business of the Autonomous Government of Andalusia, Francisco Vallejo, has announced that the Granada Health Sciences Technological Park (PTS) will be home to a new Life and Health Sciences Technology Centre. This new centre will help strengthen Andalusia's position in the biotechnology sector.

A group of directors from technology parks in the USA and Canada met with the team in charge of the Granada Health Science Technological Park (PTS) Foundation in order to find out about the work carried out by companies based in the park, with a view to setting up new lines of collaboration in the future.

The Spanish Central Government will invest 9 million euros in various projects in the Granada Health Science Technological Park (PTS). 8.3 million of that total will be invested in the R&D&I Laboratory for Health and Safety in the Workplace, the construction of which is set to begin in the first half of 2009.
